Metaphysical Feature, Haunting Villisca, to Screen at 1st Fridays Art Walk 6th Annual Film Expo at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center's Sondheim Theatre

AriesWorks Entertainment's film, Haunting Villisca, based on the historic unsolved Villisca Axe Murders of 1912 and the present day haunting of the house where the crime took place, will have its Fairfield, Iowa premiere at the Sondheim Theatre at  9pm on Saturday Feb. 6 at 1st Friday Art Walk 6th Annual Film Expo.

This award-winning paranormal thriller shot entirely in Iowa had its World Premiere in Vienna, Austria and is developing an international following due to the metaphysical aspects of the story.

Co-Writer/Producer Kimberly Busbee explains,"This is a different sort of horror film with themes of redemption. Co-Writer/ Director James Serpento and I originally planned to focus on the crime itself, but when we visited the Villisca house owned now by Darwin and Martha Linn and took Darwin's tour, some unexplainable things happened that drew us to other aspects besides the infamous, horrific and heartbreaking murders of six children and two adults. Rivalry, political intrigue and a sex scandal with rumors of hired killers are only part of this story. The recurring paranormal activity experienced by those who visit the crime scene is fascinating. But, the underlying message of forgiveness is what draws people back to the house again and again."

Haunting Villisca, starring James Serpento (The Final Season, 16 to Life), Chelsea Long (Frieze), Kerry Skram (The Offering, Sam Steele and the Junior Detective Agency), Michael Cornelison  (The Final Season, Eliot Ness: An Untouchable Life) and Francisco Rodriguez (El Maya, Vamoose) with a special appearance by GregAlan Williams (Remember the Titans, Old School, The Sopranos)  follows the fictional character, David Salt, a college professor with a personal tragedy and a guilty secret who is drawn to the fabled Villisca Axe Murder House. Horror presses in on David, forging his strange connection to the past as he is driven to help the tortured trapped souls by facing the evil harbored in the small white house.

Tickets for the screening are $10. There will be a Q&A after the film.
